Project Manager/Site Engineer- Job Description

A fabulous position has become available for a Project Manager with an engineering background to join the largest and the most successful Real Estate Agent in Somaliland, Kaabsan Real Estate.

This quality brand is part of the Kaabsan and the Telesom Group and it has a strong real estate agency division, along with being experts in construction.

Due to growth of the company, they’re in need of a dedicated Project Manager to join their vibrant team.

The successful Project Manager will have experience in engineering and at a minimum have degree or masters in project management or a similar role, and have excellent communication and customer care skills.

The project manager will be accountable for planning and allocating resources, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.

All of this takes place within the framework of achieving a Kaabsan Real Estate project goals and achieving our vision.

  • Lead the initiation and planning of a project and ensure technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time within the stipulated scope and budget
  • Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of the project
  • Continuously assess, validate and manage contractor or construction team work plan and weekly reports
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties for the flawless execution of projects
  • Manage relationships between contractors, the company and stakeholders
  • Measure project performance using appropriate project management tools
  • Perform risk management analysis to reduce project risks
  • Report and escalate to upper management as and when needed
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive project documentation
  • Coordinating with project cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Meet project team members to manage and discuss project performance
  • Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analysing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitating change requests from branch, clients and contractors to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Creating and coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation to create a standard for future projects
  • Identifying and developing new opportunities together with the director of real estate
  • Setting project goals and validating project deliverables.
  • Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • ERP project oversight if available.
  • Provide weekly reports on project performance
  • Carry out tasks issued or directed by direct line management

Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or another related Engineering science;
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing construction projects or the  performance of good size projects ideal.
  • Willingness to travel, over 50% of the time;
  • Certification or a degree in Project management
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Project and Excel;
  • Advanced proficiency in WBS development and structuring
  • Competent in office software, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint;


  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Demonstrable skills in Project and Construction Management
  • Good understanding of quality control, assurance and risks assessments, and demonstrate the ability to implement it
  • Knowledge of Electrical System Design and Construction
  • Record keeping – Excellent skills in documenting meetings, decisions, site conditions and change order
  • Management of internal and external resources in a matrix organization
  • Safety trained for field work
  • Experience managing medium and high design and construction projects
  • Self-driven to exceed internal and external customer expectations with proven leadership and management skills
