The Role:

The Country Manager is expected to define the company’s business strategy and direct business plan implementation by leading all function leaders in the company to ensure the achievement of the company’s objectives and vision.

Main tasks
 

 

·         Define company strategies and direct the development of initiatives to support local and regional goals.
 

·         Responsible for contributing towards the success of our clients in Somaliland and Somalia.

·         Ensure governance structures and processes are in place to meet corporate and regulatory compliance requirements.

·         Direct business plans and lead the management team to meet the company’s mission, revenue, and manpower and growth targets.

·         Monitor the company’s financial structure for adequacy and soundness.

·         Examine the company’s operating results and take steps to ensure that the right steps are taken to attain the desired outcomes.

·         Keep up to date on the market knowledge and revised rules by maintaining the contacts with Somaliland Insurance Authority.

·         Lead and facilitate the management team to work towards a common direction

·          Build high performance teams and manage performance of the management team effectively.

·         Providing coaching feedback for employee performance

·         Identify career goals for staff and address performance issues as needed

·         Manager is not accountable for managing a direct expense budget: Coaches team related to cost effective spending within the business unit.

Job Requirements:
 

 

Education:
 

·         Master’s Degree, preferably PhD Degree from any major

Experience:

·         At least 15 years of experience in corporate management

·         Minimum 5 years of experience in Insurance Industry

·         Strategic thinking, planning and execution skills

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·         Strong in catalyzing high performance and people management capabilities
