WARDI specializes in responding to humanitarian emergencies, bridging the gap between crisis and resilience as well as long-term developmental projects with track record in implementing high quality health and nutrition, Food Security and Livelihood, Education, protection and WASH interventions. Our programming has the distinct attributes of applying bottom up approach that puts the communities, local authorities and governments (National and Federal states) we work with at the center of our programmes.

Terms of Reference (ToR) for Agricultural Extension Officers (AEOs)


According to WARDI Organization Human Resources Policy, in the event of recruiting NEW staff for Agricultural Extension Officers (AEOs), and Monitoring and Evaluation Officers (M&EOs) for Food Security/Nutrition Projects, applicants have to meet the following Terms of Reference (ToR) to apply for these positions.

New Applicants applying job opportunity on the above Themes have to submit to Wardi Offices in SC Somalia an Application Letter along with their UPDATED Curriculum Vitae (CVs) with supporting documents and a personal passport- size photo for the position being applied for.

  1. A Somali Native Citizen; female candidates are encouraged (Other ToR exist for foreigners)
  2. Must hail from the local community in the target locations where the project will be implemented with NO PRIOR CRIME RECORD
  3. Have professional background in agricultural Sciences or related development disciplines, e.g. range and forestry management, irrigation, food security and nutrition
  4. Must HOLD Minimum Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Agriculture
  5. Fluent in English Language, both speaking and written
  6. Willingness to work in insecure, stressful locations and tight-time schedules
  7. Have good personalities, good conduct/behavior and respect to all
  8. Have good skills in communication, negotiation and report writing
  9. MUST have good computer skills – word, Excel, Power Point, and basic statistical knowledge
  10. Dual job service is NOT allowed (working for two different organizations at the same period)
  11. New applicants undergo written exams followed by interviews for short-listed candidates
  12. Successful candidate (s) sign a work contract with WARDI Organizations as per HR Policy

Qualification and experience

  • Graduate level education in Agriculture ,Food Security Livelihood or relevant Fields
  • Three years of working experience in field of sustainable livelihood or relevant Fields.
  • Vast Knowledge of key issues and trend in food security and livelihood .
  • Excellent command of the most common methodologies for identifying assessing and monitoring project activities with proven of achievements.
  • Computer knowledge with experience in the use of Microsoft suite
